A Gewinde-Grenzlehrdorn is a combination of a Gutlehrdorn and an Ausschusslehrdorn, with the latter marked by a red ring. The good side of the Gewindelehrdorn should screw into the cut thread of a workpiece by hand without excessive force. If it doesn't, the thread doesn't meet the desired standards (Ausschuss). The Ausschuss side can be screwed in by hand up to two turns, and if it goes further, the thread is considered subpar. All parts and tools are calibrated at a reference temperature of 20°C. VÖLKEL offers a Werkskalibrierschein upon request, with independent lab calibration following DIN, ISO, and ANSI standards on IAC-Gewindescanner.
